Cool.

Were there unique designs for e-bodies, or the ones out of b-bodies the same?

I had a 70 barracuda in the 80s that had a B-5 interior and the buddy seat...Almost looked like the E-body buckets at first glance...So I'm sure there were unique upholstery options...

Just the upholstery was diff, or the whole thing was diff.?

All I see for sale are b-body ones.

Not true, even though the conv had leather buckets as standard, there was the ability to downgrade for credit. Here's an E conv.

I was told here at moparts that it was not possible.Maybe you can not trust what ya read on the internet
I had asked since my car had only 2 of the squares weled to the bottom of my floors not 4 like was done for a bucket seat.
That had lead me to belive my car had a bench seat since it was also not a floor shift auto car.
Thus me asking here if verts could have a bench
I just posted the build sheet on the General board
sorry for the high jack

Bench seat does NOT EQUAL buckets w/a buddy IIRC.

Anyone know what the code is for the buddy seat on the fender tag/sheet?

I found this pic on the net awhile back. This one pic in no way proves the buddy seat was available on an e conv. Should edit above comment, not at all positive this is a stock car.

edit: a conv owner 'may' have had the option to downgrade leather buckets to vinyl or cloth. No where yet has anyone mentioned anything about bench seats equals buckets with a buddyseat.

The C21 - center folding armrest "buddy seat" was NEVER an advertised-available-factory option for the E-body 1970-'74.

Bench seat was a $$$ option in 1970-'71 2dr hardtop E-bodies. $16.50 in a '70 Challenger. Thanks "318 Stroker"!!

The 1970 Gran Coupe convertible BP27 was the only convertible to have leather interior STANDARD.
There was a credit if the optional cloth/vinyl or all vinyl interior was ordered.

Yep, you got me... I{like the rest} got confused with the fold-down center arm rest on the E-body bench seat which was what was in the 70 barracuda I had...After looking at the pics closer you can see it's a separate piece from the actual bucket seat...Pretty cool piece...So if ordering a B body you could substitute the buddy seat in place of a console ????

[quoteBench seat was a NO-CHARGE option in 1970-'71 2dr hardtop E-bodies.

According to the factory dealer coding guides, the bench seat was an EXTRA-COST OPTION on 70-71 Challenger & 71 Barracuda/Cuda hardtops. I don't have a 70 Barracuda/Cuda guide, but I would assume it's the same as the others...

I have both a 71 Cuda and a 71 Challenger with the bench seat, but neither is a "buddy" seat. The bottom of the seat is one piece, and the seat backs look similar to buckets and there is a center folding armrest.

Not sure of what the # is called in an e body but in my 73 A Body it says Delux Bench on the adds I have I have to see what the # is on the fender tag.
OK on the A Body it is F4X9 vinyl split bench seat {guess 9 being black} wonder if it is the same for Challenger Cuda
