What type of trans fluid should be used in a 1999 Chrysler 300M with the 3.5 V6 and auto stick, and how many quarts is the capacity? Thanks!

I was waiting for the peanut gallery to chime in with 40 reason to use anything other than mopar type4. If you must choose any other only amasoil synthetic will work as well. If you want to replace your trans soon please feel free to use whatever you want other than type4 or the amsoil.
Many dealers will sell you type4 in bulk if you supply the container.

atf-4 is the recommened fluid and it is true other fluids as in dextron will affect the shift quailty however I have seen 604s go for years with the wrong fluid in them BUT I would use the correct fluid.

So, what you're saying is that transmissions built before the introduction of the plus fluids could be expected to "fail soon"?

i got 300k[ + ] on my old 95 caravan using dexron3 and the only failures was a couple of input/output sensors. the trans still works good. we had it crusing the boneyard the other day in the snow.....
