ET shows the performance of the chassis/suspension....MPH shows the engine's horsepower. Appears to me, looking at the 60' times, that your suspension/chassis is working GREAT. I agree with you, that it should MPH alittle faster. I would suspect a lean condition at top-end of run. I would kill for your 60' times!! I'll trade you my MPH(104-105) for your 60'.

Have you cut the engine and done a plug check before driving back to the pits to check it's not lean or pig rich.I usually take a spare plug and a small wrench, swap it over and check it in the pits. I also had a problem with my motor laying over and it was the carb too close to the scoop. I ran without the hood and it was back where it normally is.

Correct, no wideband gauge yet.

Plugs are impossible to read. I check for the blue heating of the plug. Its at 88 jet front with PV and 94 rear. the hard starting is the telltale symptom here I believe.

But that could something to look at. It is kinda slow all the way down the track.
I have run this same specs of a motor before on race gas and more compression and it was ungodly powerful and fast in my Sapporo.

that gear drive has my mind boggled some. I guess I could put a new chain on it and test it out with straight up or retarded settings

I went 10.24 at 130 mph in my car with a holley blue, 3/8 line and the small holley reg.
Great 60 ft though, best i've ever gone is 1.39.

I suspect your issue isn't the fuel pump.
I ran a Holley black on my 422 small block for years( 650 ish horse) 9.80's at 3350 pounds at 7300-7500 every pass.
Swapped to a much bigger system and saw nothing, zero difference.
At 520 horse a blue should even likely be adequate.
Could be filter, pickup, voltage, regulator...... But that pump should be plenty adequate

OK, now armed with more info I'll take my 2nd stab at this issue. I don't see that it was mentioned that the cam was degreed. Killer 60 ft. It kicks back while cranking. Doesn't pull down on the gear change. Smells of high cylinder pressure and big torque. How much cylinder pressure does it have? Leads me question if the cam isn't advanced further than desired?

Forgot to mention i run E85.
Filter is on of those inline tubes with a mesh in.
Shouldnt restrict much?
From filter i have a an8 hose to the regulator witch is the cheap holley modell.
After reg i have jegs prebent steel tubing kit.
Cant really see the restriction exept maybe regulator.

I would agree with others as the Holley black pump should be more then enough for your setup. I use the Holley black pump also and have the regulator press set at 6 psi. I use 3/8 line and a stock fuel tank with a stock 3/8 sending unit. It feeds my car fine as I have no fuel starve problems at all. I actually had the red pump on before and switched to the black just to be sure it was getting enough fuel but it ran the same 10.70's with the Holley red pump also. Ron

I agree but obviously its not doing good.
It should be enough thats why i use it.
Maybe i should do a flow test?
Also remember that it starts to give up at about 130 mph in a very heavy car.
If i run 1/8 it works fine.

If you have a 3700 pound car going 130 mph+...... You are making way more steam than 520 horse

According to Wallace.
523 = 120mph
665 = 130mph

the Holley black pump is for the dedicated NOS line. The engine runs on a big ole Aeroquip pump with a 8 AN line.

Sorry about the misunderstanding...
Could it be the transmission?
