Is this an accurate statement for torque values per CID?
Normally aspirated on pump gas,,, real numbers,, 1.2 is a pretty good number for a decent engine 1.25 is very good 1.3 is outstanding Race engines,,, 1.4 & above gets very very expensive,,,, 1.6+ is in the Pro stock area & expensive Thx Matt

My pump gas motor is 1.27tq/CID. I never looked at TQ/cube or HP/cube. I just get try to get a good package together that I will be happy with.

Seems to me guys are too worried about torque. I suppose if you are running a 2 speed torque is more important that if you are using a 3 speed. If you have 4 or 5 gears, total torque and the shape of the curve are less important than if you have 2 or 3 gears.
If I know that my minimum engine speed is ( for example) is 4500 rpm (stall speed or on the chip) I can see no reason to care about torque (or horsepower) at a lower speed (say 3000 rpm).
All that said, your numbers posted are a fairly loose rule of thumb.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

What's the consensus about having your stall speed well beyond your peak torque rpm? (turbo application)
It means you're turbo motor makes a ton on you're like mine, but if you tighten it up you can't spool... Lol

I know why the above poster gave the . Ive seen numbers near the 1.4/1.5 mark on small block stroker builds and there is where at times if the chassis isn't set up for it, its a hard to hook situation. If only the small blocks could get past the 4.100 bore max (yes some get a hair more) and get over squared.
