Anyone know the length of flywheel attaching bolts?
I need a set, and have found some applications call for a 1/2 long bolt. Doesnt seem long enough to me and I am thinking that is for an auto flex plate.

Summit shows them with a small shoulder, but doesnt give a length and they look just like the 1/2 long ones at NAPA.

Thanks, Doc.

The issue you are having stems from GM and others referring to their automatic ringgear/flexplates as "flywheels". The ones I have here have 7/8" of thread.

Last aftermarket ones I got were found under a Pontiac application, I believe, as we couldn't find anything Mopar for these in the (I believe) Mr. Gasket catalog. If memory serves, they should actually be 7/16NF...not 1/2".

Hope that helps...

Correct, they are 7/16-20 thread, not the 1/2

I knew 1/2 was too short and thought they should be about 1".

I've taken alot of flywheels out of mopar v8's but never needed to buy a set of bolts. Since I wont be installing them right away, just wanted to make certain I got the right ones.

Thanks!
