Been a while since I've asked a question on here… I have a 3/8" hole in my instrument panel a couple inches to the right of the radio. My cigar lighter is in the ash tray and that hole would have been an inch anyway. Does anyone know what this would be for? I saw one diagram saying it was for rear speaker or convertible top. My car has neither as it's a fastback and I don't see any rear speaker.

Is it in the plastic panel or the frame? On the plastic to the left is washers, no holes in the frame, top switch is far left on my 67 vert. To the right no holes except for the mounting screw in the corner.

It's in the plastic, just to the right of the radio.

There's no hole there in mine so it's probably prev. owner added.

It is likely not a 67 cluster, but a 68. That is where the lighter is on a 68.

3/8" hole kinda small for a lighter.

Convertible top switch is under dash left side of car. If it were later model dash with lighter in that lacation , I would think it would be larger than 3/8. It also would be neatly made.
