My 04 ram has a really rough idle and its making me crazy.
Bought it new and its been a good truck till now.
It does have 160k on it but well maintained.
I put new plugs, new wires, new coil packs and a new map sensor, and one new injector.
Codes are -cylinder misfire #4
??? Please help, any idea's???

I'd check compression on #4. I've heard the hemis occasionally break valvesprings on higher milage engines.

Yep, probably a broken valve spring, at least that's an easy hole to get to.

Been down this road before. It really is an easy fix. You need to pull and clean the injectors. There is iron filings from the fuel pump stuck to the magnets in the injector leaning the fuel flow out. Pull them out one at a time and shoot them with high pressure air. Grease the O ring and slip it back in.

These iron filings are super fine. The fuel filter is in the tank before the pump. As the pump wears the iron will end up in the injectors and the fuel pressure and flow will not break the magnetic bond.

Cheers Don.

Thanks guy's, did a compression test,
105 on #4 cylinder
intake valve spring was weak, replaced both intake and exhaust valves, compression after was 180.
Truck runs great!
Thanks!

Cool, glad it's fixed. I have an 05 with 109k, I'm waiting for mine to act up too.
