How fast have you guys gone with the .557 purpleshaft? Tell us what the entire setup was.
I'll start. I know a car that went 10.97 at around 3500 lbs with a 4 speed and 5.13s with hogged out 906s and 12:1ish compression. Weiand Team G intake, Hooker Supercomps, and a Holley 850 DP.
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

I have pretty much the same combination. I haven't made it out to the track yet but I hope I can break the 10.99 mark. I didn't think I could be with your post it gives me some hope.

Not the PS .557, but i ran a best of 10.91 @ 120.56 (on a 1.51) with an XE284H cam, completely stock 906s, 9.73 compression, M1 intake, 750dp, fenderwell 1.7/8 headers, 4400 stall, 4.10 gears shifting at 5600, race weight was 3150. 75 duster.
Went to a solid comp 282S cam, ported the heads still keeping the stock valves, Wieand TR with 2 600s, 1st. pass un-tuned, On a bad 1.63 60ft. in the heat it ran 10.87 @ 123.58 shifting at 5800
So high tens are doable at 31-3200 lbs. with the .557

[Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean], I'm actually asking because I'm running the XS290S in my 440 powered B body, I hope it makes the type of power you did with the 282S. I'm hoping for low 11s but expecting mid to high 11s.

10.60 around 125-126 in a 1965 Plymouth B-body. Weighed 3460 with me in it. 11.51 440 out of the box eddy 84 cc heads.tunnelram 2 750 edelbrock carbs. Indy 1.6 roller rockers, tti 2 inch header. 727 8 inch turbo action converter. 8-3/4 4.30 gears M/T 29.5X11.5X15 slicks.this was a great combo until I wore out the factory eddy head springs. I went to the Mopar 312/590 solid can when I upgraded the efelbrock valve springs.

These are great ET's for a very mild cam! I went 11.80's at 115 with the 557 in a 3200 pound 340 Scamp, very mild motor.
My current project is a 500" street Duster with the 557 cam, hope to drive to the track and run 10's. I will probably go with 1.6 intake rockers though.
Bob, curious: What heads, intake/carb, converter and gear in that Scamp?

When I ran lightly ported J heads it went 11.98, then I put Hensley Stage2 Edelbrocks on it and it went a consistant 11.76(I was wrong when I typed 11.80's). I ran the Holley Strip Dominator intake and a Barry Grant 750 double pumper, I didn't like it, shoulda bought a Holley. I had a custom built 8" ATI converter in it. The 557 cam was installed by the card, which I believe was 110. It would have been quicker if I would have advanced it. That 340 had Ross pistons but the crank was stock, stock rods, mechanical water pump etc, nothing fancy at all.
This photo is of the latest owner of the car.
