has anyone used utf (universal tractor fluid)and if so which brand
what is realistic?
i am wanting to lower my flash rpms to see if my car likes a tighter
converter before taking it out for the restall.

i added timing to the car and it seemed to bump the flash up 200 rpms
and i was wondering what it would be like to get it down to 5300 or so.

With the timing your making more torque so the stall
went up... I cant say about the trans oil. I try
to go up normally

I run john Deere hy-guard low viscosity so it's only 10 weight. Keeps temps down though.

My friends use it in turbo DSM's if the trans is still cold it takes a long time to get up on the converter and stage

Lenny @ Ultimate told me the low viscosity Hy-Guard would raise flash stall some.

would you run it at 100% or the easy way and do a fluid and filter change with it and see what happens with the stall?

I've yet to use the stuff, going to start with the std. viscosity in my new TH400/Griner brake/7" combo right from the start and see how it goes. Hearing that the Hy-Guard handles heat better than type F, but I'm not recommending it at this point, just passing on what my converter guy had to say.

I run low vis and it didn't really change my stall at all. I run 100% hy-guard even drained conv when I switched. It raised mine maybe 100-200 rpm, you can buy low vis hy guard and it will lower your stall.

Go to your local tractor supply store and get some ISO 68 hyd fluid it should drop your stall 200 to 300 rpm

ok so iso 68 is the number to get? the iso 32 is too close to the atf to make a difference? or iso 32 goes looser...
i will give it a try after another time at the track for more data then try it.

The 303 hydraulic fluid in my car will tighten the convertor 300 RPM's.. And thats coming off the racepack replay so it's pretty accurate .

So is it thicker than say type F.... if we were to say
a thicker viscosity will lower the stall would that
be correct?
