Do you guys think that a good pair of Indy SR heads will work ok on a 540ci engine? The engine is an 11:1 pump gas motor and the heads are ported fully to Max Wedge size. Flow 360 at .650. I have just heard some say not to go above 500ci with the SR heads. Thanks for the feedback....

They will work just fine. The power will come in pretty low, with lots of torque, peaking maybe 4700. Peak hp probably by 6600? SR heads are capable of 800 hp with full porting and the right build.

I believe there is a member here with either SR's or EZ's on a 572. Maybe Ron (firefighter) can chime in.

Thanks guys...appreciate it. I figured they would be fine on a pump gas engine and still make good power.

That will work fine on a pump gas motor. Even a race motor works fine with SR heads up to the 900 hp range.

With the right cam it should be a Torque Monster.Remember torque is even more important with a heavier street car than a lighter weight race car to get it moving.

They will work fine, and you can even upgrade to a 2.250 intake valve.

Mine has a set of the 295 cnc EZ's @ 10.7:1 in a 572ci street/strip build. Makes Killer torque (720 ftlbs)and descent horsepower (720HP) that is all in by 6000 rpm. Heads flow almost identical to yours. On a 540 the tq peak and HP peak would be higher but not by a huge amount. I'm running a .660 lift solid roller 266/272@.050 on a 110 LSA.
