I used a chassis dyno (war room,A&A) and had the idle set in a happy place, so they didn't need to touch that. yes, I agree. after dyno tuning always required larger main jets at the track, 2 sizes larger usually. that's why I decided it would be smarter to get an innovate wide band and tune it myself to real world setting. mainly I use it for wot jetting which I found on my combo is 12.8:1 range for best mph. I still tune idle by ear and then refer to gage to see if its in the ballpark and it is. none of that is an issue, its the tip-in. I can feel it surging and referring to the gage I can see its between 16-17:1 ratio, so the gage comfirms there's an issue.

My thinking is the carb is to big. Air stalling on tip in. No signal to the boosters. Converter to tight. I run a super sucker under my dom on the hemi because my converter is to tight and i have 355 gears. It really helped street manners for a small engine and bad combo

you could be very well right. it is a 1080 he calls his 1100. I thought it was alittle large at the time, but he insisted its what my combo needed. I also wanted a 2 circuit build at the time and he once again insisted on a 3 circuit. he's the pro on these carbs so I just followed his lead.

To the OP....
Had great luck with the pro systems 1100 dominator on my old stroker.... At the track.... It wasn't well suited at all to the street, loaded up... But I am not a carb tuner guru at all.
That all said, the best all around street strip carb for that same motor was the race demon 1025 rs 4150 carb. Ran same as dominator at the track, and way better on the street.
I was an idiot for selling that carb..... Super sweet piece

I was looking for a used 1025 when I bought the dominator. couldn't find a used one for less than 750. sure do hold their value.

Not saying you Mike and respect most of your opinions and it was not directed at any one person at all. I got my wide band 4 years ago and I`m definately no pro YET!
