I'm puting a ton of miles on my Ram, but getting ready to move much closer to work, so that won't be an issue long term.

Anyway, just planning ahead, when I get ready to replace brake pads on my 2011 Ram, what am I in for? Do I need any special tools to do this job? Any tips/tricks to look out for? AND...what is the best replacement set out there? Any good upgrades available?

Any advise appreciated, thank you!

I recently helped a buddy replace the rear pads/discs on his 2007 Ram 1500 4X4. If the 2011 isn't much different than the 2007 it's a very straight forward job...at least on the back brakes. The only problem we ran into was the parts store gave him the wrong pads.

I just did my '11 Durango. Its very straightforward. On this and other newer DD's I use AZ "premium OE spec Gold" pads and have been very satisfied. For the Durango it was a ceramic formulation... probably for yours also.
