Hello! I'm about to paint the metal support on a 69 Charger that the grill and the hood lath bolts too. Not sure if it should be gloss or satin black. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Carl

Most I've seen were gloss. This was an original paint Charger. Though hard to tell from the dirt it did clean up looking like cheap glossy paint that had dulled down some from age.

I have not seen any that were not restored so gloss black! Would you say the headlight components and latch parts should be gloss black too?

Thats a great picture!

Thanks,
Carl

I tried my best to get this one pretty close with a reasonable effort.
I agree the frame should be cheap gloss black( almost a satin black by todays standards)

The latch and spring were a brown zinc I believe. I tried to replicate the original as best I could.

Guys thank for the pictures, I'll start sorting things out for the zinc plating. Surprised to see the vacuum pods and bars were grey, was about to do mine in black.

Thanks,
Carl

I've seen some NOS pods and there were a real dark grey color,,in some pics they look black

As for the bars, I personally think they were either plated( color unknown) or left bare steel.

I was after durability more so than 100% correctness
