The MuscleCar Place

I had the chance a couple weeks ago to record a Podcast with Rob Kibbe of the MuscleCar Place. It turned out pretty good with some stories of the Brick, One Lap, Driving Schools and how I got my start with Mopars.

Take a listen and let me know if anybody has any questions. I'm more than happy to expand on the conversations we had in the Podcast.

Enjoyed the podcast. Thanks for sharing.

BMW school - don't think we have any of those around here.

Do you still instruct? I'll send you an email.

I enjoyed the podcast (especially since I've got my own video blog I do about once a month or two). I like what you mentioned about investing in the driver over the car. When I went autocrossing for my first time a month and a half ago I drove a bone stock '11 Scion tC. Not the best at handling or power at all, but it's modern. I had a lot of fun just trying to learn the course and the car and trying to smooth things out to knock off seconds off my time. I started the day at about a 49 second lap and was able to knock it down to a low 40 second lap by the end.

Right now I'm doing a bunch of work to my Dart. A new 8 3/4 is going in with a TrueTrac and 3.55 gears. Also a TVS, 18" wheels, and wide tires are going under there. I've still got the stock and tired 273 (practically running on 7.25 cylinders) and a 904 and am going to keep those in there for at least another year or so. It should handle and stop well and hopefully I can work on my driving ability and not worry about the power. I'll most likely be taking it out on Glendora Mountain Road as I can go on my own time.

I like where your heads at Kevin. 15lbs. of nitrous in 2 laps is definite man card certified.

Mopar to the bone!!!

Yes you do... and they had one at COTA in March. I would probably make a trip down to Texas just to run COTA. That track looks amazing.

I don't think you ever stop instructing once you start. I'm not out actively doing it, but I if the opportunity comes up I will instruct still.

Nice find Kevin! Didn't know they existed.

Let's find a date for COTA. Shoot- if the BMW chapter goes back next spring, I'll go run. Bring the dart and instruct.
