So guys I was out in my car the other night and got on it pretty hard and when I let out I heard a noise that wasn't good. So I pulled over and checked a few things and I noticed that I had a converter bolt loose so I tightens it up and started it up and still was making noise so I take a look under and my flex plate had broke. Well the motor is a 416 SB with a turbo action 8in 5000. Its just about breaking into the tens. Well it was a tci sfi flex plate. I really Dont wanna get another one lol what flex plates do you guys recommend ? Its internally balanced BTW.

B&M are full circle type plates if that's what your MP plate was.

They make both.. full circle and 4 ear... or at least
they did... I have about 6 of them still in the box
from MP but it has a B&M sticker on the plate along
with the SFI sticker
EDIT
I had a full circle on my W-9 and 4 ear on the rest
of my stuff

They stock the B&M piece.... I have a six bolt on the way and the 8 bolt they sent me is on the way back to them.... after I found it four days late on the door step of the home we sold over a year ago. I hadn't used them in awile, but it's all straightened out now.

I was just putting a full circle plate on my 540 with new ARP bolts. They are pretty strict on how they want the bolts put in. Lube on the threads and UNDER the head. NO washers. They don't want stress risers on the ID of that FLEX plate.

But, parts break...

I used to break(for whatever reason)the non-round ones but since using the B&M full circle piece, no problems for many many years.

Do they just break for no reason or where the bolts coming loose and that made it break.

The bolts were always tight and was more than likely a balance or builder issue looking back.
