Does anybody have any production numbers for M46 equipped Barracudas?

Are convertible M46 cars rarer than hardtops?

Where M46 cars offered in 70 and 71?

I almost bought this 70 M46 vert in 2006. I found myself negotiating for it again over the last month.

I know this option is rare, but is it desirable?

This car is a 318 auto lemon twist car. The original engine and trans are gone. But its a super solid car with mostly surface rust.

Any info would be good.
thanks
Tom

I believe this to be the car some time ago. This picture has been floating around on the net.

I've already talked to Dwight and he said he didn't have any production figures. But a guy on Cuda-challenger posted a figure of 1.8% of all barracuda verts in 70 were M46's. I wasn't sure if that was true or not. And it was an old post.

Cool that your car is an M46 too!

remind me...M46 is that the funny quarter/rocker panel scoops by the rear wheels? or is that the weird "M" shaped paint job on the hood?

D... but is it desirable?

Not being a jerk but only you or the next buyer can answer that question and besides if you dig it then who cares?

It's rare and would stand out if you did a resto back to factory specs.

Yes, and several other little features.

The "M"-shaped hood paint was a '72 thing, The M46 cars had black grill & tail panel & were painted black below the bottom body-line.

Thanks all....for the comments, links, and production numbers.

I'm not a big fan of the option. So my guess is rare, but not desirable to the masses. But it is cool that the numbers are so low. That will factor into my decision.
