Hello all,

Got the ignition box in and it works excellent. Recently installed nitrous and am having a (hopefully) small issue. Went thru the directions twice regarding how to wire it in, maybe I just need a second set of eyes to verify this is correct. What is happening is, when I arm the system, the retard I believe turns on, even when I am at idle, and my car wants to shut down (According to the MSD instruction manual, it is not to activate unless above 2000 rpm). While wiring it up, I knew I had an old momentary button to take the hot signal to the solenoids, which would activate the retard as well (1 degree). I have since replaced it, but yet to install it.

I've included a wiring diagram how I've installed it, maybe another set of eyes will say... uh hey, do this and you're good to go. This is a whole new ball game for me so I do appreciate the help.

Many thanks,
Dave

Are there members here who use the digital 6 + and utilize the pink wire for the retard? Would like to have some feedback here, I do appreciate it.

Many thanks, Dave

yes i do and the pink wire needs 12 volts to activate the retard in the box then u can adj how many degrees u can take out on the front of the box it also has a rev limmiter if u use a trans brake the blue wire is for the rev limiter it also works off of 12 volts !

Couple things...

One... the pink wire should only have voltage when the momentary button is pushed. Simply arming the system shouldn't do anything...

UNLESS... you have the pink wire accidentally wired to the wrong side of the button.

OR...

The momentary button is normally closed, and the sputtering you're getting is actually the nitrous turning on at idle.

Put a timing light on it. Have someone flip the switch, and see if the timing moves.

My bet is that it won't... I think you may have the nitrous turning on accident.

Evening everyone, went back and started from ground 1. Sure enough, I had a couple wires hooked up wrong, after taking everything out and starting from the beginning. Burned thru a lot of wire, but it helped seeing what I thought was "correct" which was not. Got it all done, fired up the car, armed the system and did not have any issues. Tomorrow will do a test hit to see how it does. I will admit, wiring and my brain do not mix at all... I wish it did; however, I have been taking notes and have been keep a book of everything I've done this year electrical-wise. Again, I thank those who have chimed in and look forward to having an excellent run tomorrow.

Thanks again, Dave
