My ram did not come w/towing mirrors. Actually, they stick out way too far normally. Been looking for extensions just for towing. The stealer wants an arm and a leg to order them and install.
Any recommendations?
What are you towing...???

28' Travel Trailer.
That's got to be a handful behind a 150 anything....my 2004 was not great towing my 16' open with a stripped 84 truck on it.
No Stab at you....but that truck isn't equipped or rated to haul a 28' enclosed trailer.

Towed 600 miles from PA to Henderson NY and back w/no problems. 8 speed trans worked well. Trans temp barely increased 6 degrees towing from normal driving. Got 11.2 mpg towing. Very pleased.
Bought the CIPA slide on mirrors, able to see the side of the trailer and the center lines. Worth the price I paid for them instead of the mope towing mirrors.

Yup, no matter what people say, 1500s are not made for towing and that's why they don't have towing mirrors on them. 28' travel trailer loaded up for vacation is too much for a loaded up 1500 truck with how many people in it? Sure you'll get by but it's too much and not enough truck for a 28' trailer.

I towed 5000# worth of car/U-haul trailer, equipment, and 3 passengers in my 05 Hemi Ram QC 4x4 all over Michigan, Ohio, PA and down to Tennessee and back on many occasions. It towed it just fine. The newer trucks have significantly more power and better brakes than mine.
With the right hitch, tongue weight, and being mindful of the truck's published tow rating it will be okay. Not ideal, but it can do it. I'm sure a 28' enclosed with an a/b/e body in it is less than what the truck is rated to tow.
The only time I ever had a problem was when I tried hauling my dead Cadillac loaded backwards, for obvious reasons. Too little weight on the hitch led to some serious sway problems at freeway speed.

Depending on the trailer he has and how his truck is optioned, he should be under his max tow rating. I towed a 28' TT behind a '92 Dodge conversion van w/ a 5.2 with absolutely no trouble (up to Pigeon Forge over the mountains and down to Panama City Beach for several years). Tim

2014 1500 RAM 1500 Quad Big Horn, 5.7 hemi, 3.92, 8 speed, w/tow package. TT has a dry weight of 6600lbs, 2 passengers @300lbs, and we DO NOT over pack. Belongings are evenly distributed in the TT and truck. Oh, I'll add our 22lb dog to the mix.
I pulled the same TT w/an 06 Titan, 5.6 l, 5 speed, several thousand miles with no issues. One thing is that I had to manually shift once the trans temp started to increase pullin hills. Minimal increase of trans temp (4 deg.) w/the Ram and never had to manually shift.
As mentioned earlier, very please w/its performance towing.
