I saw that on Facebook( the only way Gateway seems to communicate) and was just stunned. Especially considering the trans( 1 mo ago?) blew up and injured him.
Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Running Super Pro and Pro is not allowed at Bristol, but Pro(1/8 mile) and Sportsman(1/4 mile) is allowed. Like A J Casini, I run both classes with the same car (6.60 1/8, 10.60 1/4) and have made both finals in the same day (W & RU). I understand how difficult it is to do, fueling, battery charging (NO alt), loging previous pass, changing dial in each time, keeping the driver focused, making critical split second decisions ect, ect. It takes a car that is a work horse and a driver thats just as tough to even attempt it, much less be sucessful. Congrats to anyone that can do it! Brian Dunnigan

A little different but I suppose the same, Texas Raceway in Kennedale used to run a Quick 32, one Saturday night I won Super Pro and Quick 32 in the same night, made 2 time trials and 11 rounds of eliminations... It was a madhouse, like was said above, battery, fuel, data logging. I was on methanol so the engine was staying cool but we had to put a portable fan on the trans, you could a cooked a meal on it...lol.

There is a guy at my track that has doubled up at least 2 times this year, possibly 3 times (I would have to check), winning Pro and Sportsman in an orange Mustang...one of the times he almost tripled winning Pro, Sportsman, and he runner-ed up on his motorcycle. He is also the current National Champ in Pro bike, Chad Isley.
Bill McCarty races out here too, running his black Warlock Dodge truck, also a very tough competitor.
