I am considering yanking the 273 commando and installing a 5.7 hemi...
I want to use the factory 4 speed.
are there and adapters needed and who sells them??

Here's The Mother Of All A-Body 5.7 Hemi Swap Threads. You'll find most of your answers in there. The 4-speed can use a LA (non-273) bellhousing. Not sure about the flywheel situation. Lots of parts out there now for the swap, and Daty did is swap with some of the prototypes for those parts. Good tech.

Kind of seems like the 5.7 will bolt up to any "A" engine bellhousing so long as it's NOT the 273...??

A 273 bellhousing is much smaller than a 318/340/360 bellhousing. As far as a flywheel I THINK MP has one available, ask Zippy, he'll know. I used a 727 on mine.
