Hello all,

Was wondering who uses this ignition box and how it's been for you. I've recently installed nitrous and want the option of having a retard being activated using the box. (I'm not using a trans brake) Was it an easy install and did you have any issues? I recall reading it is only activated above 2000rpm, after sending a signal to the solenoid, correct? Thanks for the input.

Dave

I have that box in both my cars and so far.. no issues at all..

The reason I chose this box over the others is because I dont like swapping pills.. with this box, its a rotary screw and you're done..

It has rev limiter, 2-step, automatic start retard and Nitrous retard.. and you're correct, the retard only activates at a certain RPN....

I have the same one I bought back in 2005, main thing is wiring and buy "radio noise filter" it is actually a voltage filter (capacitor) and prevents voltage spikes from hurting the box.

If you mean the digital 6 plus stay away from it.
Mine gave me all sorts of problems til it finally died.
I did get the mallory that has the featurs + some more.
Works very good.

I have the digital 6 box on my turbo car and its been very good for me. You can activate the retard feature in the box with rpm, a timer, or on external wrote input (in nitrous actuation) or a combination of the three.

I've ran my Digital 6 for 7 or 8 years without any issues, if it dies now it owes me nothing.

I forget how long it's been in my Barracuda, 7 yrs?
I like it so much I saw one for sale and bought it for a spare.

Thanks for all the replies, I went ahead and ordered it... should have it in a few days. Can't wait to give the nitrous a shot

I had one for a little while. Hooks up just as easily as the old 6AL and has a lot of nice features. My only complaint was a high speed misfire that wouldn't go away no matter what I tried. Put my old 6AL back on it and no problems. That was 10 years ago...still running the same old 6AL.

if you get the digital 6, mount it inside the car. not under the hood. mine gave me fits with electrical noise and still couldn't get rid of some issues mounted in the cabin, but fewer than under the hood.
I would look at ICE 7amp box. I think you would love it. mine works great.
FAST has a new 6amp box and Daytona sensors has an interesting 6amp box. I hear crane has some nice stuff now too. a lot of choices out there. me personally, i'd stay away from that digital 6 box. a lot of issues their. just go on MSD site and look in troubleshooting digital 6 and you'll see what I mean.

that was the last issue I couldn't clear up. high speed misfire between 6000-6500rpm.

I think those boxes are hit or miss. might be how clean the electrical system on the car its goin in. I know their are some issues around that box just looking at the MSD site. the box seems real sensitive to RF.
