My rad has developed a small leak where the tubes enter the tank. The rad is an older griffin and has white epoxy sealing the tubes. Local rad shop says no way to repair.

Any ideas on how 2 repair?

I may try pooling more epoxy on it, if i can get it 2 flow.

Does anybody repair this type of rad?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I had an aluminum rad with a small hole in one of the tubes. I mixed up some JB Weld epoxy and puddled it into and around the hole. It worked for the 8 years I owned the car. Never leaked.

You could ask Griffin.

Griffin rads are welded and then coated in epoxy
...just weld the hole

The rad shop said it is not possible due to the epoxy.

take a propane torch and burn off the epoxy, scrub clean with stainless wire brush then weld.

I had a griffin rad built like that as well. 2 tubes got damaged at the joint you are describing. Totally my fault. I called griffin and they basically laughed at me and told me that those rads cannot be repaired at the epoxied joints.

I bought a Northern rad. That griffin rad is now a wall hanger in a buddies garage.
