I have just bought a 67 charger, it has a 440 with 727 (doesnt have manual valvebody and stall is 2200)with a gear vendors od unit. I believe normal driving you set the dash switch to auto and leave the floor switch on and you will get 1-2-3 and then change into overdrive. When I take it to the track what is the best setting ?

What axle ratio are you running that would need to shift to OD in the quarter mile?

Splitting second is supposed to be good for some ET.

Leave it off. Put it in manual mode and don't hit the foot switch.

If you put it in auto it will go into OD before you shift into second or third. Once you hit 47MPH the OD kicks in.

With my current set up, at the dash box I turn it off @ the track. I think it may depend on what gears, how your motor's built & stall you're running, etc.

My buddy Bill (daytonakid) has a 9 second Duster that he leaves the GV engaged.
