Debating Changing From 1.5 To 1.6 Rocker Arms On A 340 That Has Out Of The Box Edelbrock Heads. I Have Plenty Of Valve To Piston Clearence, But Do Need To Know If The Edelbrock Heads Push Rod Holes Are Good To Go With The Added Angle Of The 1.6'S ? Thank You.

Pull a few valve spring and put light springs on them
to test it... I would just do the intakes myself..
I have never had any improvement on the exhaust...
but when you have the checker springs on you can roll
the engine over a bit at a time then push down
on the valve side a little and see how far you can
move the push rod towards the shaft to check clearance

Out of curiosity what part number i are your heads. The set I have I my pushrods almost rub on the intake side of the pushrod hole with 1.5 rocker.

I don't recall what part number my heads are but they are the non magnum head. I am running Erson 1.6 rockers with a total lift of about .650 with no trouble.

You would gain clearance running the 1.6 rockers
since they move the PR in closer to the shaft

Thanks Mr. Pbody. I have run both 1.6 and 1.5 rockers on these heads and the push rod almost rubs with both of them. My heads are 60179. I am thinking the shaft mounts are out of location or machined out of location. The rockers I have used are crane golds for the 1.6 and stock adjustable rockers for the 1.5s. I am planning on having them looked at this winter before I start the next build with these heads and figuring out why.

It's very unlikely anything is wrong with your valve train stuff. It is what it is, grind away or use a good dinky pushrod. That is pretty much the options.
