I am going to get rid of my accell unilite system and go with a electronic setup. Various reasons why but I an on the second module and have voltage filter installed and the photcell is giving me headaches, I am all done and changing.

With that said it is not hard to get confused with the selections, I was looking at the MSD billet distributor and MSd 6al box. I was hoping to do an upgrade and be done with it. A little pricey between 450-500$ for the package at Summitt and MSD. The car is setup for street and not strip, so I understand I may be overshooting with this setup. Is there something just as good for lower price. Really just want a simple install and start cruising again.

Before I make the dive I thougth I would ask, I have been looking at past posts and other web sites so its easy to get overwhelmed.
The car is 70RR, 440 rebuilt block w/ stock stoke & bore. Edelbrock performer intake and 750 carb - nothing special but fun.

thanks

Pertronix......lot of different systems to choose from

IMHO I'd pass on any Might, Sputter, and Die systems

I bought one of the pro-comp style ready to run el cheapo distributors off ebay. Had one in my jeep, worked great. Bought one for my 440, worked great. Put one on a buddy's 318 pickup, worked great.

As you know many options: OE 70's electronic dist & get the advance systems spot on & use a killer coil/ballast (carry spares) and a MP chrome box or the revnator or an HEI module and can mount it under the dist to hide the chebby part & someone sells a mounting plate but it is pricey & it's easy to make. Use heat sink paste (radio shack) and speedway motors sells an HEI module that is hotter called a "dynamod". I've only heard one or possibly 2 complaints on the Pertronix which is excellent considering we are the complaint dept & it needs a dist with minimal radial play (AZ sells rebuilt point ones for cheap for a base to work off of).

For a Street cruiser considering;
Simplicity, affordability, reliaiblility with any parts store having the parts in stock.
My vote is the Factory Electronic conversion kits. See Mancini Racing.
If you are adventurous, the chebby module is Very interesting along with the other ones mentioned earlier.
Personally, I would like to try the chebby one myself.

Hello, give Mancini a call, and get their Firecore Electronic/Revnnator conversion kit. Don't forget the hotter Firecore coil as well. One stop shop for the hot ticket.

I use a MSD billet ready to run distributer. No need for any other boxes, wires, ballast, etc. Everything is in the distributer. About $400 I think for the RB. No issues with mine.
