So, after the pushrod and rocker arm damage on the fir4st outing with the new roller, the dilemma has been solved. The pan came off first, and main bearings checked. Mint. So, over it went and the cam came out. Sure enough, I had been shipped a cam with no oiling grooves as required on the LA series block. Cam bearings were perfect, and the oil holes were properly lined up.
So, I had a friend put it in the lathe and run me a groove 1/8" wide, by 1/16" deep on #2 and #4 journal. Put it back in yesterday, and with just a 3/8 drill spinning the oil pump, I was able to get oil moving up the rocker oiling galley.
Maybe I can get that 10 yet.
