I've never seen a hood ornament that says "426-H".

Anybody else?

These are the ones I'm familiar with:

They are extremely rare, I have an NOS one and the only other one I have heard of was owned by Frank Mitchell.

I'll rephrase it,no 300H with 426,300H was 62,426 in any form was not out until mid 63.,that style ornament is 64/65.

Yeah, just checked. 300H had the 413. Did Hurst have something to do in 64-65 with the 426?

Also, the logo on that hood ornament is for the Plymouth Division...

That is actually a 1965 Fury/Sport Fury hood ornament only, not used on any other year or model. Completely different from the B-Body Cars

And....the sky is blue. I was just saying there is one around here that is an original 426 sspd car. They sound like a rare combo.

There are a few theories I have heard. One is they were made for a 426 Hemi Sport Fury that was on the table at one time. In 1965 there was a 65 Fury 426 Street Hemi Car (Pilot/Test Mule) built and tested at the proving grounds, I believe the car was later destroyed. The original plan was to possibly offer the Street Hemi in the 66 or 67 C-Body cars, but the plans were obviously scratched. The car was built around the same time the 65 Coronet Street Hemi Mule/Test car was built and tested. The hood ornaments are the same as the big block Fury III and Sport Fury in 1965, the call out and font is the same as the 426 emblem just with an H added to it.

Are there any clear photos of it? Is it cetain to be a factory piece and not just a custom foil insert someone made? There is nothing for it in the parts manual 64/65.

You are correct, there isn't anything mentioned in the parts manual. I recently moved but I will try to dig up the NOS one I have and post a few pics of it next to an NOS 383 and 426 Hood Ornaments. They are 65 Fury III and Sport Fury only.

Scott, this 65 Fury 426 4 speed with the hood emblem that is being discussed here is owned by a member over at FCBO. It's the real original deal.
