I either installed it wrong or got sold a bogus seal... which is it? My lid won't close now

iirc a guy had that problem on here last year & he raised the trunk lid adjustment so it did not crush it as much & let it set that way for awhile then readjusted it so it crushed it a bit more & let it sit that way for a spell then did a final readjustment down where he wanted it. Do you still have the old seal so you can compare thicknesses/shape dimentions?

Okay: Thank you... I just wanted to make sure I did'nt install it upside down or get the wrong type seal. There was'nt much left of my 45-year-old seal.
I will just give it time
