Vernon, Ohio	I am in the process of rounding up some smallblock 727's,my brother found a 78/79 fury with a 318, what's the chances of this car having a 727 in it?? Also what year's did they start using lock-up tranny's in the car's?? Any info is appreciated. Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

Magnumguy I Live Here Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 10,644 S.E.Ohio	OK, there's a 99% chance it's an a998, which is a lockup 904, but they mostly had lower 1st gear, and 5 clutches? If the data tag has an A36 code (trailer towing), it'll most likely be a 998. You'll have a better chance getting what you want in vans and trucks. the old 79 300's had a nice 727 set up in them. Even the A100 post cable shift shorties can still be had readily. WANTED: Your 71-78 Late B-body sedan parts! Police or Civilian.
