Ching my intake gasket and wondered if this was what the lobes were supposed to look like.

That is because the lifter is not flat on the face and only a portion of the lifter rides on the cam lobe.
Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks.
But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

What does that mean, then? is everything okay or is the 282S comp cams a piece of junk anyway?
