70RR restoration body/paint work included frame connectors. Unfortunately none of us thought to install the stock fuel lines (supply & return) ahead of the frame connectors. The connectors have cutouts (pic) on the front end for fuel/brake lines, however, there is no way (that I see) to make the tight bends in the fuel line and fit through the openings.
My first approach was to cut both fuel lines in half then flare both ends and use a flared union. I ran it this way for awhile, but didn't like the union hidden inside the Tbar crossmember. So I took them apart and used fuel hose with hose clamps. Couldn't remove the unions, so just slid them down the fuel line to make room.
Anyone tackle this, perhaps with some sort of flexible fuel line? I want to preserve the stock fuel line routing as best as I can.

So, you installed sub-frame connectors and want to preserve the stock fuel line routing??? On my '68 Dodge bracket beast, I ran a pipe through the connector at an angle, welded it in place, then fed the 1/2" fuel line through the pipe with no unions. Overkill, of course, but it never starved for fuel.

On mine, I was able to work my re-pop OE type steel lines through the hole without excessive bending. I did this first before they were attached anywhere else so the loose ends had plenty of room to move.
This is how I have done it.

Yea, I recognize the contradiction and figured I'd hear about it.
Did you weld in the pipe before/after installing the connectors?
Thx everyone for suggestions. Thot about elongating the cutouts.

I tried this, over and over again...unable to bend the repro fuel lines to fit between the inner connector cutout and hole in the crossmember
