I'm in process of putting my 71 Challenger together. Having trouble with hood alignment. I was wondering if someone could measure the height of a known pop up spring in its free state. Looking underneath mine appears to be nearly fully compressed and keeping drivers side of the hood high.

Remove your hood spring, and the latch. The hood will be sitting only on the two rubber covered bumpers. Adjust bumpers until the hood fits to suit you. Then reinstall the latch, it is adjustable side to side, and up and down. Adjust latch to hold hood firmly against the bumpers, and in the correct position side to side, aligning hood to fenders. Then reinstall spring.

Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160...
