If they're putting 11.6 PSI through it I'm going to guess 670ish, based on the Chevy #'s Malicious posted. I'm guessing it'll be as fast in the 1/4 as the GT500, yes the Challenger is heavier but that may help with traction. What kind of PSI does the GT500 have?

And weight tends to break parts.. sooner or latter
they will have to lighten up all of those cars... I
know when I was working there that was a big thing

inside sources said it made 666hp..hense the name. Hellcat..but they will call it 665hp...to avoid controversy

According to aero charts it takes 700 HP to go 200 in a Challenger. (182 in the 470 HP NA 6.4L as a baseline)

i dont think they where limited to 11psi of boost on those passes..are they?

I edited my post (got the numbers wrong), 700 HP to go 214 MPH, 600 to go 198 and 470 to go 182.

What would be the point of running it at higher boost?

Do we have any more information on the block?
Are they using the 6.4 block?
Never will be able to justify buying one but don't care. If that block will take a blower if will handle anything I could throw at it. If its the same block its available in the 2500 and 3500 truck.Matt

There expensive for 2 reasons. Profit and the government. They can only sell a few due to mileage requirements. So as a business they make a premium. I've driven them, but can't afford one either. If they wanted to, the power level could go way past 700 and live. But we know that the Viper and Ferrari are at the top of the food chain. Think of it this way. Use Chryslers technology and parts to build yourself a 1000 hp in something that weighs 3500lbs, you'd have one heck of a street car.

The cars Mercedes roots, wiring and safety will never let that car be lightweight.

I got my new 2013 ZR1 for $108,000.00 which was 19 grand under sticker. It does a lot of things well but traction on the stock cup tires is non-existent. If the Hellcat does have 666 hp I'd seriously look at one assuming it isn't just a great motor in an average car. I have a 2013 SRT8 Jeep and while the basic car is good the lousy detail and cheap part factor makes it only average.

Advertised power will be detuned to 610HP in an effort to keep the innards from being spit out on the asphalt.

Nitto NTO5 Drag Radial is a good street/strip tire for the Vette's.My Super-Charged Calloway Vette makes over a 1,000 Rear Wheel Horse-Power on the chassis dyno.

From what I've read about it, this thing is gonna be built for abuse. It has its own transmissions, diff with only one ratio available, block, forged pistons, rods, crank, huge oil coolers, factory cold air through the d-side inside headlight, electric cutouts and its own 15.5" front brakes. Also it has been durability tested to withstand all out 20 minute track day sessions in desert heat without any power reduction. Most guys on here will say if it doesn't run 10's off the dealer lot its junk, this thing isn't built to dominate the strip, its being built as the ultimate musclecar.

It'll make 645 hp.. But in typical new mopar fashion, the car will weigh so much, it'll be stuck in the 12's.

Come out of your Mopar hating dream world.... Challenger stockers in the 9's od 10 inch slicks and if I remember right Barton ran some 8's in AA/SA trimwithout supercharger.

a gutted out race car w/ a pro built engine, powerglide and solid rear is not the same as production car. I've seen plenty of R/T challey and SRT-8's at the track, some w/ mods haven't seen one break into the 10's yet. Most are in the high 12 range, some pop high 11's. That Hellcat thing I'd hope would be into the 10's, as mentioned before The S/C'd Mustangs have been there for a few years now.

Is the Hellcat just a engine or is it a car at this stage? Also over 600hp from the factory is more HP than a lot of Big Block & Small Block
engines that have been built and are more Race than Street engines in street cars.

Car as a package. Aside from the engine and trans themselves, special brakes, calipers, wheels, rear end, shocks, hood, air intakes/exhausts, front grille, interior, emblems, etc.

I have those on my SC Cobra replica. 700 F/W HP. Never hammered it so I don't know how well they work.

Why is the motor a 6.2 L ?
They make a 6.4L , why not use that?
No replacement for displacement.
