What type of gauge would you use to check the lifter bore size ? Thx

.50-1.00" dial bore guage. You can use snap gauges, but no where near as telling or accurate in my opinion, unless you use them a lot and have a good feel for them.

When I bored my bushings out I had to use my snap
gauges due to my bore gauge was sent back to the company
for repairs... they are real close but I took multiple
readings per bore to make sure I was right

Same thing on a set of inside calipers, dial bore gauges are way better I don't have one(dial bore gauge) that will measure less than 1.00

Ended up borrowing a dial bore gauge . Worked great . Thx for the info.
