I have a 1967 R/T that had a/c. I removed it and replaced the crank and water pump pulleys. they line up perfect to the power steering pulley. Now the alt. is about 3/8 inch off and squell like a B---- If I mount with the alternator ear on the outside of the triangle bracket it lines up perfect but the tri angle bracket is on a angle and cannot be tighten down. Correct way is on the outside of ear.And another thing is belt length the one im using is a little loose at end of adjustment and the next size smaller is so tight it won't go on. every thing was bought at mancini and looks correct. PLEASE STOP THE SQEEEELING. Thanks Jerry

If you put the alt ear on the outside of the triangle to where the pulleys are aligned like you said then can you space the other ends of the triangle pieces out so the triangle piece is parallel? I'd call your parts house & have them pick a belt inbetween what you have (measure your two so they'll know what size to look for). You can space the wp/crank pulleys further forward also. Mancini (& others) have spacers and I've used flat washers sucessfully. Those OE bolt spacers if you have spares can be ground down to the proper length & look better than washers slid on the bolts & might need longer bolts for enough thread engagement.

To put the ear on the outside to line up pulleys I would have to mill the lug on the water pump 3/8 inch (remove mounting stock not add washers)that dose not seem right.

The "cross" can be pressed a slight bit forward with the limiting factor being how close the pulley groove is to the (4) mounting bolts and some pulleys have a tapered barrell and some are straight which gives you more clearance but not even close to making up 3/8". I've gone as far as I can without any pics unless something hits me. I'll read thru your OP again & see if something jumps out. Something is drastically out of position for the alignment to be off that far. EDIT Meant to say "rearward" regarding pressing the cross

You said you removed the AC unit. Didn't the earlier non-AC, power steering cars use an idler pulley bracket in place of the AC unit?
