go for it jeff, I think that we have a pretty good turnout for this event. Why dont we poll the racers at the event on how they think things went, and see who they want to run the next one. The purse is split up back to 8 cars, is that not good enough? would you like to get payed for losing in the first rd? The events we usually attend are winner take all, except the dutch and vegas, so I tried to split it up as much as possible without ending up with no money. I think the sponsors got more exposure at this event than any one I have ever been to. when I won the dutch (that you never payed me for) I didnt know who was paying till the final. We printed 500 flyers here, distributed them at auto value stores in the grand rapids area, engine pro put them in every box they sent out (they printed their own) and I sent 100 to 131 dragway. As usual you know how to do everything better, but the same applies to this race as does racing in general, talk is cheap, results speak volumes.
we are leaving now for stanton with hebert, see you there.

hey guy,, i never said you werent doing a killer job raising money/prizes for this race,, and never implied that i could do better,, sorry if you took it that way,, i think you over did yourself in how much of a support you have got,, you have done a great job. that being said,, i didnt think you were going to apply the same thing to another race like norwalk,, if you are,, thumbs up,,, ill applaud all your efforts. charlie we cant let our egos get in the way of this thing going,, and hopefully taking off. i never was telling you how to do anything,, you and i know that could never happen,, i just offerered a couple ideas that i though might be helpful to the growth of this thing out of nhra. ill copy and paste the email that i sent to you awhile ago so all can see, for whatever that matters,, all i want to see is this thing grow,,, and absolutley ill be at martin...

Subject: sponsors

how about summarizing what each sponsor does/services offer/etc. a sentence for each one on that moparts thread and on maries site,, links to web pages, contact info.. if sponsors see rewards from people calling even if they are tire kickers they may be inclined to sponsor again,, if nothing happens maybe they wouldnt,, the reason i say,, ive never heard of engine pro,, im not super cool but ive been around for 10 years doing heads seriously

just finished putting bias tires on the car,,, see you in the lanes...

CWs right. A lot of the racers are "puttin up"! The ones I know of are Bucky, Baughman, Warford, Turk, Holt, MR2. CW has also brought Jessel, some oil, gaskets, bearings and and now the tires. Jeff, maybe just a certificate for some work?

I would rather have him put up a bag of Doritos (no offense Frito) than a certificate for work.

your a real piece of work who are you to turn down some that could be offerd? and your still cryin about your $$ from the dutch tell ya what big boy ill give you something c ya at martin chump

something simillar to this, depending on the total with the 150.00 entry fee
WINNER 55% 6985.00
R/U 25% 3175.00
SEMI 20% 762.00 EA.
1/4'S 8% 254.00 EA.

as far as the email MCH sent me, I read it. I felt like I was doing a pretty good job gettting the sponsors names out there. More targeted at the spectator, parts buyer in that area. Jeff mentioned that he didnt know who engine pro is, so I should change my marketing aproach. He also in the above post said he would "give the sponsors the recognition they deserved" or something like that. I say go for it. Take the norwalk race and run with it. I dont need to do this. I make my money building engines, not winning a 7K purse. I didnt do this deal because I plan to win it. I go to every race with intentions on winning, if you dont, than you dont need to be there. I worked at getting this deal together so my customers, current, and future, can have a good race to go to. Like I said I nominate MCH to take over the norwalk race. And RO23, your comments dont deserve response, nothing constructive comes from your fingers, so I am done reading your BS.

We have decided to have free entry for the HEMI SHOOTOUT!
Maybe this will get a few of the fence sitters to come. I will be doing a track rental on friday, so anyone who wants to get in on that can contact me. It will probably be less than 200 ea depending on who shows up. I think its 1500.00 split up evenly.

Since I don't have a dog in this fight I thought I would just keep quiet, BUT,I again think this is "nice" of CW. The track rental sure is fair and it looks like CW will pay his equal share.

good to hear bucky, we apreciate it. Charlie B told me this morning that it was ok for us to do car and driver free entry, but the crew needs a ticket, so keep that in mind. We will have a bag full of stickers and info at the gate for the hemi racers, It tells who is paying, and what you need to have. They want their stickers on the cars, I cant argue with that. I felt like they would get enough exposure without that, but for now we will deal with this.

the track rental starts at 9 am, and goes till their friday test and tune starts. Rains is on the way, Hebert, Hard, cw1 and 2, bales, daniels, and quake2 should be there for the test, maybe more.
