Thought Id start posting the progress on my dad and my newest project.. This will be an incredible car when done! First off, Its an original V-code 1970 Roadrunner coupe. Original equipment is sparse but include hemi orange paint, black Belvedere 'taxi' interior, 440+6/ 4 speed/ super track pack (4.10 dana) dust trail stripe, 15x7 rally wheels and AM radio. Little back story.. The car originally was bought new somewhere around Prince George, BC and pampered for the first few years. It was soon sold to the second owner and used it as a weekend drag warrior. Apparently within the first couple months, the second owner managed to grenade the original motor, destroyed the hemi 4 speed and wrecked the original dana! It was hacked apart, ran hard and put away wet. Somewhere along the line, it received mini tubs, frame connectors, in-board spring, 'elephant ears', and some shoddy body work here and there. Im not sure when it went into retirement, but it traded hands a time or 2 until I made the 4,400 mile round trip to acquired it in 2009. I then accumulated most of the parts to make the car complete as my intentions were to restore it, but priorities changed so I put it up for sale. With no luck, my dad came through and offered to buy it! Well, as soon as I finished up my 71 roadrunner project, dad rolled his car into the shop and started on it this last winter. The car will be restored to a nice driver condition as my dad isn't quite the purist as I am and likes to drive the crap out of them He won't be straying from the build sheet at all, but he isn't too concerned about date codes and such which makes it easier to do. I hope you enjoy

some of these pics are from the previous owner, I never really got the chance to get much pictures before dad started tearing it down. the hood isn't suppose to have the black out, it was added in at one point..

mocking up 1/4 panel. overall fit wasn't terrible.. needed a little mending here and there, but nothing that couldn't be remedied.. original was full of bondo, brazing and rust.

that's pretty much where we are at for now. the 440 he's using is just about assembled- going with a basically stock rebuild, and the hemi 4 speed is also rebuilt, ready to go. The plan is to have the car in paint yet this summer and I believe he wants it wrapped up by spring, but you know how that goes.. but at his pace, I bet we wont be waiting too long. more posts to come!

I remember when that car was for sale. I really like the way it is optioned. I really like the coupes with the el cheapo interiors.
I am glad to hear it is getting done and I will be following the progress.
How are the doorpanels? They are unique and hard to find in nice shape.
