I would like to get my stock water pump rebuilt, does anyone know of a company that does rebuilds them. Also is there a difference between a standard water pump and one for A/C? This is Arizona and if an A/C pump cools better I would like to go that route.

There doesn't seem to be any shortage of WP rebuilders.

The A/C pump has a smaller impeller and is driven at a higher speed, an A/C pump used with standard pulleys will actually move less water.

That's good to know, how do you tell the difference between A/C and non A/C, anybody got measurements?

Thought A/C water pumps had 6 blades and non A/C cars had 8 blades on the impeller.

Yep, A/C has 6 vanes and smaller diameter impeller, non-A/C has 8 vanes and larger diameter impeller.

Can a rebuilder put the right impeller on my core?

You're more likely to get the correct impeller from a rebuilder than from an auto supply. Most auto supplies now sell the 6-vane for all applications.
