Hey everyone. I just had cam bearings put in my 440 block and I'm going to assemble soon. The machine shop didn't put a plug in the back of the block behind the cam. Does anyone know a part number I can get locally so I don't have to order a whole kit? Should this be brass instead of steel to act as a bearing material with the force of the cam spinning against it?
Thanks!

Not answering your question but make sure the bulder or you knock it all the way in...you don't want to know what happens when you don't. I'd think any decent parts store could order it.

Thanks Jeff, will do. I tried Autozone and Advnace Auto and neither had it. Nothing quite that big. I will try Napa tomorrow but was hoping to have a part number so they could check the warehouse.

yeah sad to say if it's not in the computer nobody knows what you are talking about anymore. NAPA should be a better option. You can also try rockauto online.
