Were the hood hinges body color originally? Seems like they should be.

I seem to remember mine being body color from the factory. When everything was repainted that is also what I went with.

Yeah, they would look strange in any color but body color.

Yep, body color.

BUT...the entire hinges were not body color. Part of the hinges down under the fender were hidden from the factory spray guns and did not get painted. Same deal with trunk torsion bars, etc.

Therefore painting entire loose hinges off the car in body color won't look right. They should be painted on the car or as though they were on the car.

It all depends on what you are planning with the car. If it is a nice driver or over-restored show car just paint them completely and don't worry about what others say. If it is a 100% trailer queen paint them as said above.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

makes alot of sense to me! my hood is a lift off but if i had hinges on my driver quality car i would paint all of them. then you don't have to stress about where the 'paint/no paint' line would be!
