I have a 70 challenger with a 440 and 4 speed. I installed a holley street avenger and the pedal is very heavy.
I disconnected the cable and the pedal and cable move freely.
I disconnected the return spring and made no difference.
Anyone have a 770 with this problem?
Thanks

UHHMMM I going to guess the pedal to carb ratio is wrong. PIC's would help

Since the pedal/cable is free it would have to be the carb: As said throttle cable mounted to the horizontle pin too close to throttle shaft centerline. I'm assuming the angle of the cable/connections looks OK

Check the fast idle screw/cam on the passenger side, make sure it is not rubbing on the intake, it sits below the throttle plate and will hit some intakes unless you have a spacer under the carb.

Are the throttle blades witting the intake or gasket, loosen the mounting bolts and see if it gets better, then you know.

Look here first. The closer your cable hooks to the throttle shaft the more pedal effort you will have.

Ok, I have some good info.
I will check the cable angle and how close to the centerline it is. Will also look to see if it is rubbing on the pass side or gasket.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback

I will try and get some picts up.
