installing a 6 pack on the 340, and modifying my 4bbl linkage to work. My question is in the manual i lined up the bell crank with the drill bit like it points out and had the lever on the trans fully forward, noticed that the lever has no resistance till about half way through its travel then you feel some "spring" in it, is this normal??

Don't know about "half way" but the first portion of the linkage travel has no resistance, this is due to the air gap between the linkage and the internal valve.
