good food for thought. I would think that the brakes would self energize in both directions (forward or backing up) giving the same force either way. Good question on why there's a short shoe & it goes on the forward side. If I had extras (& the time) I'd put 2 long ones on, on each side & see how it acts. BTT

RR I had a few at the shop where someone used 2 shorts and 2 longs on an axle.It seems the 2 longs wore faster thatn the 2 shorts.I didnt notice a difference in braking though.Also had a bunch where someone installed the shoes backwards.Rocky
