Well with the new upgrades to my Duster over the Winter (new struts, strange brakes, strange master cylinder, and new wheels) all went well. We always get two time trials on race day so I had planned just to make an 1/8 mile hit on my first one but due to VERY high winds we raced 1/8 mile all day. I rally didn't expect to much out of my first hit as I wanted to burn up the BP93 in the cell from last November. car drove very nice and ran a
6.44@105.58mph. I refilled the cell with fresh BP93 and ran
6.39@106.56mph. The air improved some so I dialed a 6.37 and ran a
6.3640@106.84mph running under by .006 for the loss. So I grab my 20 dollars to buy-back and in the losers round I get the bye and run a
6.3676@107.09 to get back into the winner bracket. I dial a 6.36 and get a .007 light to a .010 light and I run a
6.3592@106.94mph running under by .0008 for the loss. Had a great time but its not an easy game with a class full of dragsters and altards and judging the stripe. Driver needs lots of practice and I'm looking forward to next week. The 408 engine is doing its job and will serve as a nice back-up when I have the new bullet ready. Five gallon of BP93 lasted all day at 4.01 per gallon.
