if its a -70 variable speed switch it could have 2770380(i think) stamped in it.no e-body 3speeds in 70,but i think they interchange??

Two speed switch is part# 2947404, variable speed is part# 2770380. Part# may be on the switch.

As already mentioned, there was no 3 spd on 70-71 E bodies.

If you compare the pics on ebay, you will see the variable speed switch has a raised curved section at the back that it not on the 2 spd switches. Looks like the variable switch may have an extra terminal but I could not tell for sure from the pics.
