I just learned about and system that cleans your oil using a roll of toilet paper. Claims that you never have to change your oil but instead replace the roll of paper and replenish any oil loss. Curious if anyone has used this system before and if it works?

The additives in oil (VIs, etc) still break down, TBN decreases, etc, so you still need to change it. What some do is run a very high quality synthetic with their BP filter, and have a UOA done at regular intervals. Then they only change the oil when the UOA indicates.

Blackstone is probably the most popular for DIYers. There is also Polaris, Cat, ALS, and I'm sure others.

Charmin works the best as it has the finest micron filtering ability

Gulfcoast makes a filter for big trucks that is the size of 2 rolls of paper towels. You change the engine filter and the bypass filter at the regular oil change interval (12-15,000 miles on my equipment) and the make up oil to re-fill the filters maintains the additive package. The full flow filter and the bypass filter take about 3-4 gallons to re-fill.

They do UOA as part of their service and claim as much as 1,000,000 miles between oil changes but considering most big engines hold around 10 gallons of oil and you are replace 3-4 gallons every service interval, it's a little misleading.

That being said the bypass filter filters down to 1 micron which is well below the particle size that causes most engine wear.
