I came across a 72 Satellite project that I am thinking about buying. I looked up the numbers and to my astonishment it was a big block car. I knew that some of the Satellite Sebring Plus cars came with the 400. But this fender tag not only had the M2G code for the 400, but it also had the E63 code for the 383 4bbl as well. Did some Satellites come with the 383 4bbl in 72? The motor is long gone but I'm still curious and a little confused. Thanks!

I think your E63 code is really an E68 for the 400 engine
P2G would be a 400 4bbl in 1972 built at St. Louis plant.
M2G would be a 400 2 bbl, not exactly the top dog.

Yeah it says the 400 was built in St. Louis but it's a 2bbl. Strange how it has both engine options on the tag. I'll look for the build sheet next time. Hopefully it's still there.

I just looked at the fender tag again. It is undoubtedly E63. Maybe it was a screw up at the plant?

No screw up. According to the 1972 dealer data book, E63 was the option code for the 400 2bbl.

Okay that makes more sense. Thanks for clearing that up!
