M Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 11,836 Florida	I have a 69 GTS that I bought as a shell many years ago for the rearend, once I got it home I realized it was to nice to finish stripping. As many it was gutted for racing and had a 383 K-member under it. I have slowly been collectign the parts over the years and have it fairly complete now, one thing that I have not been able to determine is if it had head rest. It's a 927 SPD and I have the tag that includes C16 C55 and P6Y interior. It is a 4 speed 340 car if that matters. Thanks in advance, Kevin Careful, your character's showing!

OHIO, USA	Quote: No. Not from the FT. if the fender tag has a Scheduled Production Date (SPD) of Jan 1, 1969 or later then it had to have them.....in fact the hardware was already installed at the beginning of December 1968 and there may have been a very late December build that got them but that is a reach. SPD of Jan 1, 1969 and later had to have them by FMVSS standards. Oops: Before Jan 1, 69 Doug IS CORRECT YOU CAN NOT TELL BY THE FENDER TAG! me-> Last edited by A12; 04/24/14 04:22 PM.

Just cant find anything that would give me an indication. What if it had shoulder belts, were they a package or could you get shoulder belts without headrest. When did shoulder belts become mandatory? I was thinking the beginning of the 69 production. Careful, your character's showing!

Is the headrest hardware in the seats?
