Does anyone know of a good over-the-counter spray paint that is a decent match for ralley wheel argent silver? I haven't had good luck getting paint out of MP paint cans. Doesnt need to be perfect as these wheels are going on a driver.

Bought some with a friend online. Use for grille, console, dash... silver paint too.

Was a dead match for an original set of 71 Demon rallye rims checking under the trim ring that not exposed.

I wanted a Rallye for my spare. I blasted a used one from Craig's and shot it with this. Came out great and you can even see the date code numbers clearly.

I always use Krylon 1403 dull aluminum on my wheels. I've been told it's not an exact match but it looks very close to me (I'm not a 100 point type of guy). I haven't seen it in stores recently-but you can get a case of six on-line from lots of places. It's also a close match for zinc plating.

Dan- the ACE hardware stores stock it around here. I have to say, it isn't a perfect match. I just sprayed a set of 390 wheels for my Bee and left the original silver intact, on the inside area between the beads. You can clearly tell the difference. The original silver isn't as flat and the Krylon is a little lighter. But it looks good enough to play the part.

BTW- the center cap paint is too dark... That is the Krylon Medium argent textured stuff. It does look a bit lighter in person, but it is still too dark for sure.

My local dodge dealer sells a mopar paint in a spray can. I can check when I get home but I believe it even says rallye wheel silver on it.

I'm going to try that shade on my '71 GTX ralleys.

Thanks again to everyone.

I went with the dupli-color caliper paint and all I can say is it is VERY close to the mopar paint, I now have wheels painted with each and I cant really see any difference. Also the duplicolor charcoal wheel paint is a great substitute for 71 center caps if you dont mind the smooth texture and a slight color difference. Sorry for the lighting in this pic.

BTW, with all the work that goes into repainting a set of 45 year old wheels that have multiple coats already, the wheel vintiques rallies start to look more like a bargain (of course the wheel face at least needs a coat of paint that is color correct.

Usually the 44 year old wheels are round though as opposed to the repros made with modern equipment which generally aren't round.
The paint looks good I'll have to go get some.
