In addition to the Pentastar and the Chrysler part# all NOS examples have another stamping that contains the McCord Gasket company initials and part#, the reproductions (like this one) doesn't have it. 340 Exhaust gasket on ebay

I've run across many of those throughout the years and they all came from brads nos www.TONYSPARTS.COM

It would give the vendor the opportunity to rectify the claims to the Mopar community and change the advertising to a more accurate description of the part. Just looking at both sides.

I have fell victim to this scam, I bought two last year from him, I bought one for me and one for my buddy, this is before anyone had them listed on there websites, I did not know they where even making reproduction gaskets at the time, when I saw that he had listed 4 more and that they where being reproduced we sent him an email asking if they where old nos or new , he said they were old, so he is blatantly robbing people

This topic erks me to say the least, it seems there are many people that are selling nos parts that are truly not nos, or, there is a very well known parts distributor that I contacted about 2 nos aar distributors he had on his website, I asked him straight out if they were nos or rebuilt/restored , he said no, they are nos, he sent me pictures and they have the wrong vacuum advance and repop id tags on them,and the box part # is conveniently whited out, so he is takeing $100 nos baloney dual points distributors and putting ta 340 id tags on them and selling them for $7-800 8121840-DSC00007.JPG (121 downloads)

twobolts member T Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 12 ny	When he posted his fourth one of these on eBay I asked him if these gaskets were NOS old stock or the ones that were now being made, his reply was that they were about ten years old. Unfortunately I had already purchased one of the first ones he posted. There is a lot of shady stuff that goes on with "NOS" parts. From taking a run of the mill nos part and duping it into a rare nos part with repro parts to putting it into a nos package to just flat out lying about parts. I've been lucky enough to find someone pretty local, honest and knowledgeable who has helped me find parts and takes the time to show the differences between nos. fake, assembly line correct, etc...even guiding me to be very careful with certain sellers. Someone like this is priceless. Buyer Beware it seems.

I bought a Blem. on E-Bay and even was able to get it cheaper due to the seller having a "make offer" type auction.
